Sustainable Living Association Announces Earth Day Fort Collins 2022

Fort Collins, Colorado: The Sustainable Living Association (SLA) plans to hold Earth Day in Fort Collins on Saturday, April 23 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Civic Center Park, 201 Laporte Avenue, Fort Collins (www.SustainableLivingAssociation.org) . This year, we are continuing our collaboration with the City of Fort Collins to provide attendees with interactive and educational opportunities to learn more about the Climate Action Plan and how to get involved. Admission is free and attendees are asked to bring a donation or non-perishable food items for the Larimer County Food Bank.
Earth Day Fort Collins is a combination of activities and events for the whole family, with information booths and exhibits, educational opportunities, arts and crafts, live music, speakers, food trucks, an outdoor cafe and a mini farmers market.
Northern Colorado Clean Cities will host an on-site electric vehicle ride and help answer any questions consumers may have about owning an electric vehicle. The event includes the 3rd annual SHIFT Earth Day Challenge coordinated by the City of Fort Collins, challenging area residents to compete in a competition aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
During our NEW Youth Climate Action event, local youth will come together to train and inspire other young people in 4 different educational areas focusing on climate change and how to take action. This event is led, organized and implemented by young people who are aware of the effects of climate change on our planet and want to do something about it. Our writing and art contest for young people encourages middle and high school students to share “what sustainability means to them” and submit their work for consideration by April 4. Winners will be presented at the event.
