Ribbon cutting as amateur hockey association joins chamber | News, Sports, Jobs
IRON MOUNTAIN — The Dickinson Area Chamber of Commerce has welcomed a new addition to its more than 400 members: the Dickinson Amateur Hockey Association.
They recently had a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Mountain View Ice Arena to mark the joining.
DAHA has been in the Iron Mountain area for 46 years. This is a non-profit youth hockey organization serving young athletes ages 4-14. As members of District 8 of the Michigan Amateur Hockey Association, their teams travel and host opponents from Houghton, Hancock, Calumet, Iron River, Escanaba, Manistique, Marquette, Tahquamenon, and Munising.
Their athletes participate in fundraisers throughout the season to help cover annual costs and have the opportunity to participate in off-ice training, organized tournaments and outdoor goalie clinics. free and USA Hockey official certification.
Many of their athletes aspire to develop their skills to advance their careers through high school and beyond. DAHA offers Youth Hockey, Learn to Play and “Try hockey for free” through USA Hockey.
DAHA encourages its community to visit Mountain View Ice Arena every weekend from November to March to support its athletes.
