Paul McCartney at 80: Brilliant photos of Macca at her Merseyside home

One of Liverpool’s greatest sons, legendary musician Sir Paul McCartney will celebrate his 80th birthday this week.
Born in Walton on June 18, 1942, the father-of-five rose to international fame as a member of one of the greatest bands of all time, having formed The Beatles with John Lennon and George Harrison in 1960.
Writing many famous songs, including Yesterday, Eleanor Rigby, Blackbird, The Long and Winding Road and Let It Be to name a few, the legend has spent six decades in the spotlight.

After his life with the Fab Four, Sir Paul launched a successful solo career and continues to perform – returning to the city on numerous occasions and will headline Glastonbury on Saturday June 25.
To mark his milestone birthday, the ECHO dug through the archives to find these brilliant photos of Macca at his Merseyside home over the years, from outside his family home, to local gigs, carpooling karaoke and more Again.
