Don Dimoff fires 67 to win York County Amateur Golf Association senior title
Don Dimoff is the York County Amateur Golf Association Senior Men’s Champion.
The Bon Air Country Club golfer shot a 67-under-par on Sunday at Briarwood Golf Club to claim a two-stroke victory over Scott Knouse of Regents’ Glen Country Club.
This was Dimoff’s second Senior YCAGA crown after winning it in 2016. Dimoff is also the successful women’s basketball coach at Red Lion High School.
Darrell Bryant of Piney Branch Golf Club was third at 70.
Two other Bon Air players finished fourth and fifth respectively, with Bob Ruby at 71 and Rob Bowman at 72. Thomas Lauer of Briarwood and Jeffrey Gingerich of Conestoga Country Club each shot 74 for sixth place. Cool Creek Golf Club’s Pudge Crumbling and Briarwood’s Jim Mastromatteo are tied for eighth at 75.
In the 60-64 gross division, Knouse was the winner at 69. Randy Grim of Cool Creek won the gross division 65 and over at 72. The net winners of the division were Bryant (69 in the 50-59 division), Mastromatteo and Bon Joe Gibbs of Air (70 in the 60-64 division) and Lou Gingerich of Briarwood (69 in the 65 and over division) .
Women’s action: Amy Kennedy of the Country Club of York won the senior women’s title with a 72. Louise Gebhart of Hanover Country Club was second with 77, followed by Anna Baldini of Royal Manchester and Kristie Hamp of Regents Glen Country Club with 87. Kennedy was also the 50-59 net champion at 73 years old.
Louise Gebhart of Hanover Country Club was the raw 60-64 female champion at 77, while Nancy Gross of the Out Door Country Club won the gross 65 and over championship at 79. The other net winners were Janice Evans of Royal Manchester (76 in the 60-64) and Connie Shorb of the Country Club of York (78 in the 65 and over division).
