Association of Master Gardeners organizes the annual Gardenfest | WDVM25 and DCW50

MIDDLETOWN, Va. (WDVM) – The Northern Shenandoah Valley Master Gardener Association held their annual Gardenfest after having to suspend the event last year due to the pandemic.
People were able to buy plants, shrubs and flowers and visit stalls with products from local artists and vendors.
Most of the plants available have been cultivated by master gardeners who are members of the organization. People were able to take Radio Flyer wagons to transport their plants around the festival, which was held at the Belle Grove Plantation.
Northern Shenandoah Valley Master Gardener Association President Elaine Specht was more than happy to help others with the green thumb. She explained that event attendees could not only talk to master gardeners about how to care for plants, but also talk to conservationists to learn more about the flora and fauna of the Shenandoah Valley. .
âWell that was great because last year we had to cancel because of COVID,â Specht said. âAnd this year we’re happy to be back. People are really happy to be together again and enjoy seeing the plants, working together and learning how to improve their gardens.
